The Story Behind 7 Years

When we opened Mooring Eats in 2018, we were a family bringing a piece of Syria to South Etobicoke. The recipe we cooked from had been in the family since 1940 — built over generations, carried across continents, and now served from a kitchen on Lake Shore Blvd W.

We made a promise on day one: we would never take shortcuts. Every sauce would be made in our kitchen. Every marinade would be fresh. The spit would run all day. The garlic sauce would be made from real garlic. The pickled turnips would be brined in-house. No commercial bags. No frozen proteins. No compromises.

Seven years later, that promise is still the foundation of everything we do.

What we didn't anticipate was how much the community would give back. The regulars who walk in and we already know their order.
